Snooker Update – I&S Club March 2026
The snooker season for 2025/2026 is now drawing to a close and, in this second half of the snooker season there have again been very friendly & competitive external matches. These have been against the Ipswich 41 Club, The Badgers, & the Ipswich and Woodbridge Golf Clubs. In the Woodbridge Club match, Bruce Murrill’s golf side had the moral victory of winning more legs than the club side, but they ultimately lost on the evening.
In the internal matches the Bill Allin Cup was won by Tony Moran & Jim Newbold, the Centenary Taylor Tankards was won by Jim Barr & David Jones, and the Spring Cooper Tankards was won by George Ridgway.
I would like to thank everyone that has played in the external & internal matches and the knockout competitions, to all of the captains of the match teams, & a special thanks to the catering team who always look after us so well.
The finals night was held on Thursday the 19th March, with one of the finals played on the Wednesday night previously, and the results were as follows:
Snooker Handicap - David Jones beat Peter Shepherd
Claude West – Rob Adams beat Stephen Britt
Billiards Final – Peter Shepherd beat David Jones
Snooker Open - George Ridgway beat Peter Shepherd

Finally, it was a pleasure to have had our Club Manager Andrew Vales join us for the presentation of the prizes on the finals evening, & his support of the snooker section is much appreciated.
