Cheltenham, not just for the races…
In Montpellier, the heart of Cheltenham, you will find the Regency house which is the home of The New Club Cheltenham. Private but friendly, the New Club offers its members, who include among many others lawyers, musicians, artists, senior military figures, academics, accountants, architects, surveyors, entrepreneurs, business people and farmers, everything you expect from a club – elegant surroundings, exemplary service, outstanding cuisine, a wide variety of daytime activities and a varied and exciting events calendar.
The New Club has been at the heart of Cheltenham society since it was founded in 1874 as a gentleman’s club, modelled on the great London clubs, and intended like them from its inception to provide comfort, entertainment, a place to meet friends and an excellent cuisine for its members in an attractive environment in which they could relax and which was for many a home-from-home.
Membership to the Ipswich & Suffolk Club provides access to reciprocal clubs that have agreed that our members may, by prior arrangement, use their facilities.
The club currently has arrangements in place with clubs across the UK and Channel Islands and around the world.
To use this fantastic benefit as part of the membership package, a letter of introduction is provided by our Club General Manager, followed by members dealing directly with the ‘host’ club to make specific arrangements for the visit.
