Club Restaurant & Bar

The Ipswich & Suffolk Club's Restaurant and Bar are open every weekday offering both traditional silver service and bistro style dining.

Bar open from 11am. Restaurant 12:30pm - 2:00pm

Thursday 7th June - Speakers Lunch - Upper Orwell Bridges

Are we getting the bridges? How many are we going to get if yes? What will they look like? How long will it take to build? Who will be able to use each bridge? Many questions and we have all the answers.

Pre-lunch drinks 11.45. Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £15.00 per person.

Saturday 9th June - Speakers Dinner with Sue Hayes

Straight from the Cannes Film Festival Sue Hayes will entertain us recounting her career in film and TV whilst we enjoy a fine French three-course dinner. Sue will talk about her experiences and outline why Suffolk is now attracting more filming from series like The Crown, The Detectorists and even The Antiques Road Show.

Bar 7.00pm. Three-course dinner 7.30pm. Cost: £34.00 per person.

Tuesday 12th June - Scrabble Evening with Supper

Test your knowledge on a great fun evening.

Bar opens 6.30 with a simple hot supper (diets catered for). Scrabble to follow.

Entry cost including supper is only £12.00 with a prize for the winner.

Thursday 21st June - Speakers Lunch - Lina Hogg

Arya Candles is a Suffolk company, the brainchild of mother and daughter team - Lina and Jenny Hogg. They will explain how the business was established in 2014 and the charity at the heart of their company Women for Women International.

Pre-lunch drinks 11.45. Lunch 12.15pm. Cost: £15.00 per person.

Friday 22nd June - Summer Wine Committee Tasting

Hosted by our Wine Committee, this event builds on our past events and incorporates our Champagne events with superb summer red and white wines, to further compliment a delightful meal with friends. Early booking recommended.

Bar 7.00pm. Tasting 7.30pm. Cost: £42.00 per person incl three-course dinner and wines.

Saturday 23rd June - A Celebration of British Music with pre show supper.

The highly regarded Ipswich Symphony Orchestra returns for a programme which includes a Centenary performance of Holst's mighty work, The Planets and one of Classic FM's top ten favourites, The Lark Ascending. Some of our members will remember the brilliant young soloist from last summer, Savitri Grier, who's returning to play for us again.

Seats in the Corn Exchange stalls for members and guests are £31.00 including two course and coffee supper.
Arrive 6.00pm for orders and bar. 6.15 supper. Performance commences at Corn Exchange 7:30pm

snooker at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubThe Ipswich and Suffolk Club boast a superb snooker facility with two first class tables in gererously proportioned adjacent rooms, conveniently located next to the club bar!

Here a thriving snooker section plays informally on a daily basis and throughout the year in club and inter-club competition.

The snooker section has for many years been under the capable stewardship of Snooker Captain Allan Williams, who with the help of the snooker committee makes sure that the full programme of matches are always well attended and much enjoyed by all.

The Ipswich and Suffolk Club Book GroupOwing to their popularity, the Ipswich & Suffolk Club runs two Book Groups for the enjoyment of its members.

Running throughout the year, the Book Group operates on either the first or the third Wednesday of every month depending upon which group you join.

The club Book Groups see an eclectic range of modern and classic literature discussed by its members.

All members are welcome to come along and join the discussions plus enjoy an informal light lunch afterwards.

Bridge at the Ipswich and Suffolk ClubCaptained by Maurice Barnes, the Ipswich and Suffolk Bridge Club meets every Tuesday morning for bridge in the Adam Room ahead of an enjoyable lunch in the club restaurant.

Here duplicate bridge is keenly contested by members and guests.

Golf | Print |

Regular golfing activity for members in IpswichMany of our members are keen amateur golfers and the club’s golf section provides regular opportunities to play in friendly competition.

Matches are played annually against local rivals, the Bury Farmers Club and the Colchester Garrison Officers Club and every year the Barnard Cup (stableford golf day) and Northgate Trophy (knockout) are keenly contested.

Our Scrabble Club usually runs in the evening of the second Tuesday of the month.

Test your wordplay skills and knowledge against other club members at a great fun evening.

Bar opens 6.30pm with a hot supper (diets catered for) and Scrabble to follow.

Chess | Print |

Our Chess Club runs the second Wednesday of every month commencing 6:30pm and is open to all members whether you are a complete beginner, rusty player or more experienced as the group can cater for all levels and abilities. Please do bring along a board if you have one.

Please note that there is no catering at this event but the Club Bar will be open.
